Able Bodied Adults without Dependants (ABAWD)

Important Changes to SNAP and Medicaid Benefits – Know Your Requirements!

Effective December 1, 2025, new SNAP work requirements began affecting certain adults under the Able-Bodied Adults Without Dependents (ABAWD) rules. Beginning January 1, 2027, new Medicaid work and community engagement requirements will also take effect. Eligible individuals may need to complete 80 hours per month of qualifying employment, volunteer service, education, or approved job training to maintain their benefits. Mental Health America of Nevada (MHANV) is helping community members connect with volunteer opportunities, workforce training referrals, and essential support services. Some individuals qualify for exemptions.
